Celebrating One Year of In-House PCB Manufacturing Milestone at Lumishore

Today is a remarkable day for Lumishore and our factory in Swansea as we celebrate a significant milestone – it’s been a whole year since we embarked on the journey of manufacturing our own PCB circuit boards in-house. Since that ground-breaking day, we’ve successfully produced an astounding 40,000 PCB circuit boards, highlighting how dedicated we are to being innovative, environmentally friendly, and at the forefront of technology.

Often referred to as the heart of electronic devices, PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) are vital for ensuring the smooth operation of our electronics. As we reflect on this one-year journey, it's essential to acknowledge the pivotal role PCBs have played in propelling Lumishore's marine lighting solutions forward.

Sustainability in Manufacturing

At Lumishore, sustainability is not just a buzzword; it's a guiding principle that influences every aspect of our operations. With the transition to in-house PCB manufacturing, we've not only gained greater control over the production process but also enhanced our commitment to sustainability.

Our new Surface Mount Technology (SMT) facility, celebrating its 1st birthday, is a testament to this commitment. All PCB assemblies are now made in-house at Lumishore, boasting over 100 different types of PCB in production. The facility has realised the expected benefits of shorter lead times, full control over production, and improved product delivery times for our lighting products. The production of over 40,000 PCB assemblies (and counting!) reflects our dedication to meeting customer demands with agility and precision.

The investment in our bespoke SMT facility, which can produce upwards of 150,000 circuit boards annually, is a strategic move to ensure improved service and quality for our customers.
